Gavin Hood Looks Back On The Mess That Was X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE
Gavin Hood is in London promoting his new film Ender’s Game, which is surprisingly getting a lot of positive buzz considering the controversy that surrounded the production of the movie based on the Orson Scott Card book. While speaking with IGN, Hood was asked about another movie he directed that didn’t get such a positive response- X-Men Origins: Wolverine. There was a point in time where people thought the movie leaking online with unfinished CGI shots was what cause the films failure, but now everyone has come to the realization it was just an all around failure regardless of the leak.
The director chalked a lot of the problems up to constant last minute script changes that he didn’t have time to adjust to. Hood is nice enough to only sum up his experiences as a “baptism by fire.” He tries to be nice about the film, praising the always lovely Hugh Jackman, but he covers up a lot of his problems with Origins by instead talking about what he loved with Ender’s Game. You can see what he’s getting with this compare/contrast statement. Watch the video below to see how lovely Hood is regarding the horrible mess that was Origins. There were a lot, A LOT of problems with Origins from the acting to the effects, but Hood did a decent job on his end all things considered. What do you think about the director’s comments?
