BATMAN Vs. SUPERMAN Roundup: Highlights Of The Gotham/Metropolis Football Game
Batman and Superman won’t be the only big guys trying to take each other down in Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel sequel. Last night filming for the highly anticipated flick kicked of when the director filmed a scene featuring Gotham City University taking on their rivals Metropolis State University in a game of football.
The quick shoot took place at East Los Angeles College during halftime of their home football game. Those in attendance served as extras thanks to some Gotham and Metropolis shirts passed out by the crew (Gotham shirts ran out before Metropolis shirts). Neither Henry Cavill nor Ben Affleck were there during the brief scene, but I’m sure we’ll see them together before long. It was reported that Warner Bros. told the crowd they would be shooting scenes for Batman Vs. Superman, so that may indeed be the official title after all. The scenes filmed saw Metropolis tackled for a loss, followed quickly by a touchdown pass to the corner of the end zone. Gotham cleared the bench and a fight had to be broken up. Snyder, who surprisingly filmed the scenes himself rather than let the second unit handle it, will have some chaos on the filed. It doesn’t sound like it will be anywhere near the mess Nolan had happen during the last Gotham game though. Below are pics and videos from the half hour of filming. Pics and videos are via ComingSoon, The Man of Steel Fanpage, Bleeding Cool, and Twitter. It’s nothing major, but it’s the first piece of Batman vs. Superman news. What do you think?
