Zoe Saldana In Talks For Guardians Of The Galaxy’s Gamora
News is breaking on a possible new addition to James Gunn‘s Guardians of the Galaxy. According to the Hollywood Reporter, actress Zoe Saldana is in negotiations to play the film’s female lead. That means Saldana, if all goes well, will play the green-skinned Gamora. She’ll join Star-Lord Chris Pratt and Drax the Destroyer David Buatista in Marvel‘s first galactic outing. Gamora is a humanoid and the last of her species, who were wiped out by the Badoon. Gamora one of the galaxies most dangerous woman. She even has ties to Thanos. The Mad Titan raised her, but she eventually saw the error of his evil ways and quickly switched teams and joined the Guardians.
Saldana is no stranger to sci-fi and big franchises. She sported blue skin for Avatar and then a red shirt as Uhurah in JJ Abrams‘ Star Trek films. More details will undoubtedly find their way online before long. Gunn has been in the UK for a while working on pre-production with shooting to start not too long from now. We still have yet to hear about Groot, the living tree, and the pint-sized terror that is Rocket Raccoon, but hopefully those additions will be made now that the more humanoid cast of characters are almost set. Do you think Saldana will be a good Gamora if the negotiations go well?
