Zack Snyder Wonders If Marvel Is Ready For A World Where Superman And Batman Exists In The Same Universe

by

Warner BrothBatmanSupermanBoomers has a lot riding on Man Of Steel. The studio has pretty much put all their eggs in Zack Snyder’s basket when it comes to their superhero movies. The reason is, if you can’t make your flagship character a success, how are you going to do it with some lesser known characters? This question has prompted WB to put all their superhero plans on hold until they see how Man Of Steel is going to fair.

Snyder though is confident that he has a winner in Man Of Steel. While talking with SFX Magazine he even issues a little warning to Marvel Studios. The magazine asked how fearless he feel relaunching Superman. His answer was a straight and direct saying, “If you get it right, that’s the question you’ll be asking everyone else. That should be the question you’re asking Iron Man and Thor. How is it that you feel you can be making a superhero movie in a world where Superman and Batman exist?” While it looks as if he is confirming that Man Of Steel will be opening the gate to a larger DC world, the thing to keep in mind is that the movie NEEDS to be a success. He also went on to say that if you get DC Characters right, they can be important.

While there have been numerous rumors and speculation, no plans have been released at this time. Based on Snyder’s quote could it mean that WB will be looking to get Batman going ASAP after Man Of Steel? Maybe, but it could just be him referencing DC’s two biggest heroes.
