Zack Snyder Reportedly Meeting Frank Miller To Talk Batman Vs. Superman

by

superman batmanWhen Zack Snyder announced his Batman vs. Superman or Superman vs. Batman movie at Comic-Con, he had Harry Lennix read the famous Batman line from Frank Miller‘s The Dark Knight Returns. While it has been stated that the film is not based on Miller‘s seminal work, it does set a heck of a tone for the announcement. It is being reported that Snyder will meet with Miller to talk about the upcoming movie.

The Independent (via Dark Knight News) is reporting that the comic book writer and artist will meet with the director soon. The announcement of the movie and the reading of the infamous Batman line was a surprise to Miller:

A source close to Miller, who also has Sin City and 300 sequels in the pipeline, told the Independent: “Frank had no idea the announcement [of Batman v. Superman] in San Diego was going to happen so it did come as a surprise. He’s going to be meeting up with Zack in the next few days to go over the plans for the Superman film so things should be clearer after that.

It sounds like this is just a meeting to chew the fat and compare ideas. While Snyder and David Goyer are working on the script and aren’t using The Dark Knight Returns as the foundation for the film, it is a great idea to speak with Miller. The writer was the first to have Batman and Superman coming to blows like that and really showed how Batman could be every bit Superman‘s equal, and even better. Snyder would be wise to pick Miller‘s brain when it comes to having the two DC titans come face-to-face. What do you think about this potential meeting? Do you think it might hint at Snyder and Goyer‘s approach to the Batman/Superman relationship?
