Zack Snyder On Man Of Steel 2 And His Desire To Expand The DC Universe Into Superman’s World
Man of Steel is off and soaring at the box office. With the movie having such a great opening, there were rumors and speculation about when the film would get a sequel. Well, it didn’t take long for the news to come in. Only a couple of days after opening, Deadline reported that a sequel was indeed being fast tracked for Warner Brothers.
While this made fans of the movie excited, it is also met with skepticism, because movies hardly turn out good that are “fast tracked”. However, Man Of Steel director Zack Snyder talked a little bit with Movie Hole about a possible sequel, “I’m going to be a hundred percent honest with you, I haven’t yet gotten to speak to the studio about all these awesome details because I’ve been overseas on the junket,” he explained. Fear not though because Snyder went on to say that when he gets home he is looking forward to meeting with the studio about ideas, and that they, “need to do something.”
What about the million dollar question that everyone wants to know about in Justice League? Snyder was pretty tight lipped on that front. However, he did say that Man Of Steel is designed to built towards that world. Said Snyder, “I really wanted to expand the DC Universe and I really wanted to make sure, in Superman’s world, that all that is a possibility.”
Rumors has it (according to David Goyer) that WB is looking to do Justice League first, and then spin some solo movies out of that. However, this is not confirmed yet. The only thing we can do is wait and see what the future of the DC cinematic universe holds.
