Zac Efron Tosses Fuel On The STAR WARS Fire
Earlier this year, while the Star Wars Episode VII rumors were running rampant, there was one bit of news that not many people put too much faith in. While doing some press work for That Awkward Moment, teen heart throb Zac Efron was asked whether or not he was involved with JJ Abrams’ upcoming Star Wars project. Surprisingly, he admitted that he had taken meetings with them, but nothing had come of those meetings. The news was quickly brushed aside as more concrete news was beginning to surface, including the all but sealed deal of Adam Driver playing the film’s baddie.
Well, get ready to rage, nerds, as Efron is back out on the circuit promoting Neighbors, which he co-stars with Seth Rogan and Rose Byrne. Once again, he was asked to address the Star Wars rumor and Efron continues to admit that discussions are happening.
“There are irons in the fire so to speak. I don’t like to talk about these things too early because it takes a while to get these things right.”
He remains pretty tight-lipped about the whole thing, despite who is talking to him about the project, so he doesn’t say much about it. However, it is quite intriguing that he does not deny the fact he has taken discussions about the film. Is it his way of staying on the radar or is there some actual truth to this news?
It’s been rumored that a big announcement will take place on May 4th, the day that many is the designated Star Wars day. What that announcement will entail is unclear, but the title of the film will likely be held for later date. So, can we expect some official casting news? Hopefully that’s the case as the film is scheduled to start filming in just a few weeks. Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill are all rumored to currently be in London, where much of the filming is expected to take place.
Star Wars Episode VII will hit theaters in 2015. No details regarding story are available at this time. We do know that JJ Abrams is directing though, so the secrecy is nothing knew. Be sure to check back to Comic Book Therapy for all the latest info! You can check out the entire video below.
