You’re Going To Have To Wait A Little Longer For SANDMAN: OVERTURE #2
Neil Gaiman returned to the world of Sandman in fantastical style with artist J.H. Williams III at the end of October with Sandman: Overture #1. The book was met with praise from fans and critics alike. The miniseries was set to come out every two months with special edition ‘director’s cut’ of the previous issue filling the gaps. The second issue was scheduled to hit in December, but now you’re going to have to wait a little longer to see what happens next.
Bleeding Cool reports that the second issue of the series has been delayed until February of next year. Retailers have been informed of the delayed and all orders for December have been cancelled. The February 2014 DC/Vertigo solictis will be released later today, so we can expect to see the issue resolicited. No reason was given for the delay at this time. Gaiman and Williams had a bit of a head start on the series, but with Gaiman’s complex storytelling style and Williams amazingly detailed art work, something may have taken a little more time. The first issue proves it’s worth the wait though. What do you think about Sandman’s delay?
