X-Men Star Just Waiting For A Call By Bryan Singer For Days Of Future Past
X-Men: Days of Future Past production starts a little later this year, and from everything we’ve heard about the film it seems like it will bridge First Class with the original X-Men trilogy as well as straighten out some of the continuity errors. We’ve heard a lot of the original X-cast will be returning in some form or fashion for the film directed by Bryan Singer. Hugh Jackman, Sir Patrick Stewart and Sir Ian McKellan are already confirmed with many more expected to be announced soon. One of the big players in the original films is just waiting for a call though.
Famke Janssen’s Jean Grey is rumored to be popping up in the new Wolverine movie, but the actress says she hasn’t heard anything about a potential Days of Future Past appearance. When asked if she’s been approached in two different interviews, the actress said:
If you run into Bryan Singer, just tell him I’ve been sitting by the phone, I’ve been hearing rumors of all these people getting cast; what about me? I’m waiting!
I’m sitting by the phone waiting, call me up Bryan! I think their challenge is that I died as Jean Grey and I died as the Phoenix, so what else can they do? If they bring a younger version back, they’ll have to get a younger actress, so what is there left to do?
The fact Jean Grey died in the final film isn’t that big of a hurdle to overcome, these are comic book characters we’re talking about. Nobody stays dead for long. She may be telling a little lie, but I doubt it. The other actors and Bryan Singer himself haven’t been too coy about announcing returning cast members. Hopefully she gets the call. Now we just need to hear from James Marsden and Halle Berry. What do you think?
