X-MEN Producer Confirms Channing Tatum As GAMBIT
It’s been quite the back and forth between X-Men producer Lauren Shuler Donner and Channing Tatum. Ever since Tatum voiced his desire to play Gambit in a movie, Shuler Donner has voiced her support of it. No one really thought it would go any where, because this seems to be going on for a couple of months now.
However, we have some news. While attending the X-Men: Days Of Future Past premiere in London, Shuler Donner confirmed that when we see Gambit back on the big screen, Tatum will be the one portraying him. “It is Channing, yes,” she said when asked what they will look for in the next Gambit. “He’s a rogue, he’s a rascal, just like Remy LeBeau. He can handle the action, we all know that, and he’s got a real good heart, I know him personally, we did a movie together. So he’ll be great for Gambit, and he’s a southerner too, He’s(Tatum) not from New Orleans, but he understands that world, and you know Gambit loves New Orleans.”
The next logical question is when will we see Gambit pop up? Will it be in the next X-Men film Apocalypses? Or will it be his own solo movie? Those answers may be down the pipeline, so we will just have to be patient. Check out the video below, and for all things X-Men related, make sure to check back here at Comic Book Therapy.
