Marvel announced a new X-Men book by Brian Wood and Olivier Coipel featuring an all-female cast to the joy of many fangirls and boys across the web. The series was originally set for an April 17 release, but word has hit late today that the first issue will see as six week delay. The book will now be released on May 29.
Wood took to Twitter to assure fans that the delay was to prevent the need for fill-ins and would only be temporary. The book will be back to a normal release schedule within a few months. Wood took to several comic book forums to address fans. When things got particularly nasty at one site, Wood revealed that the delay was related to a death in the family of somebody working on the book. He wouldn’t go into details, not that he even should. But there you go X-fans, you’ll have to wait a few more weeks for the femme fatales.
