Which Avenger Will Appear in Iron Man 3?
Who will appear in Iron Man 3 following the events of The Avengers?
According to a casting call, not only Pepper Potts and James Rhodes/War Machine are set to appear in the next installment, but Scarlett Johansson is also coming back as Black Widow reprising her role from Iron Man 2. Even more on the film, the call also gave a brief description of the story.
“In this third installment of the Marvel Studios‘ film adaptations of Iron Man, the storyline is being described by writer-director Shane Black as being a Tom Clancy-thriller, with Iron Man fighting real world villains. Black stated, ‘the studio wasn’t happy with the result of Iron Man 2, as a result that pretty much came about due to a rushed production schedule in an attempt to hit a release date rather than simply make a good film, but I digress. Iron Man 3 will not be another, ‘two men in iron suits fighting each other.
I would take this as a rumor, but I find the casting to be accurate because she did star in Iron Man 2 after all and did not kick the bucket. Samuel Jackson’s Nick Fury and Clark Gregg’s Agent Coulson were not mentioned, but I have no doubt of the characters making an appearance in Iron Man 3.Not like we’ve had enough of them to begin with; the Iron Man films are SHIELD heavy, maybe a Hawkeye appearance too?
Shane Black is directing and writing Iron Man 3 starring Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man, Gweneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts, Don Cheadle as James Rhodes/War Machine and likely Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow for a May 3, 2013 release.
