Warner Brothers Is Looking At Joaquin Phoenix To Possibly Be Their Lex Luthor
I hope you like casting news, because Batman Vs Superman is full of it. Last we had heard Warner Brothers was looking at adding Jason Mamoa to their big budget tent pole that will square off with Ant-Man in releases only separated by a week. It was unclear whether or not Mamoa’s role would have been hero or villain with characters such as Martian Manhunter and Doomsday being thrown out there.
However, we do have another name popping up for the movie, Joaquin Phoenix. Phoenix has the movie world buzzing right now with his work in the movie Her, and it looks like Warner Brothers is trying to cash in on that buzz. What role would he be playing might you ask? Well, it would be none other than Superman’s arch nemesis Lex Luthor according to Variety.
Variety did point out that their sources couldn’t confirm that it was Lex, but all indications seem to be pointing that way. I happen to think it’s a stroke of brilliant casting, and hope they can get him locked it. One thing to keep in mind is that talks are very exploratory at the moment, and may not lead anywhere.
