The Wait Is Over: THE INCREDIBLES 2 Has Been Announced
Fans have been waiting nearly 10 years for news on a sequel to the smash-hit Disney/Pixar film The Incredibles. Director Brad Bird said he would do a sequel only when he had a great story and he actually had the time to give it the attention it deserves. Well it seems that after his second live-action movie, Tomorrowland with George Clooney, we’ll be getting our long-awaited sequel to one of the greatest superhero films in recent memory.
At a Disney shareholders meeting that is still going on, Bob Iger announced that Pixar Animation Studios is working on a new Incredibles movie. They also announced a new Cars movie, but that’s not nearly as exciting as the news about Mr. Incredible, Elastigirl, Dash, Violet, Frozone, and Jack-Jack‘s return. Brad Bird is said to be working on breaking down the story now, so things should really get moving soon. We could see the film hit theaters in 2018 at the absolute earliest. This news comes hot on the heels of yesterday’s announcement that The Incredibles was getting a 3D re-release. Some fans started to think this would signal an announcement about a sequel, since most 3D re-releases for Pixar movies have come before the release of a sequel, and it turns out they were right. This story is still developing, so stay tuned for updates. But the important thing is that a sequel is on the way in the not so distant future. What do you think? Can you believe it is finally happening?
