Vince Gilligan Discusses The Possibility Of A “Breaking Bad” Movie
Breaking Bad finally returned on AMC last night for its fifth and final season, which will have sixteen episodes in total (with the first 8 airing this summer and the other 8 airing next year). But after the show is over, what can we expect next? Maybe a movie? Well that’s what the series creator Vince Gilligan discussed while speaking with Cinema Blend at Comic-Con last week:
“I love the idea of it, and I learned a long time ago, ‘Never say never.’ But I have to say that my writers and I intend to tell ever bit of story we can tell in this final sixteen. So, at this moment in time, I would say that the odds are a bit remote. If we were – a year or two down the line – think of something else we could do, or if there’s anyone else left standing when the dust is cleared, who knows? Your guess is as good as mine at this point.”
Well, from what it looks like, there are no plans for a big screen movie of the show right now, perhaps we can wait and see what happens when the show is over, but it’s not a good thing to wait a long time for a big screen adaptation of tv shows, look at Friends for example, the show was over on 2004, and since then there has been talks from cast and producers saying that a movie is possible, but nothing happened yet, maybe because everyone involved lost interest. So let’s hope the same doesn’t happen to Breaking Bad, depending on how the series finale it’s gonna be like.
