Vin Diesel Continues To Be A Big Tease: Hints At Being Groot This Time

by

guardians-of-the-galaxy-concept-art-finalVin Diesel continues to be a big ol’ tease when it comes to whether or not he actually has a role in a Marvel film. The Fast and Furious star played coy with reporters at this year’s Comic-Con, only saying that we should hear something about his potential role “soon.” Marvel Studios head honcho Kevin Feige tried to squash the Diesel rumor a few days after the actor’s comments, saying that he did indeed meet with the actor but nothing solid came from the chat. Feige went on further to state Diesel‘s possible role is “so far ahead it may not even exist.” Well tonight Diesel is stoking the Marvel fires again with his Facebook page.

The actor used Vision as a profile pic on his official Facebook page about a year ago, and that got people talking quite a bit. Tonight Diesel used a Groot picture to the same effect. You can see the pic, as well as the full image he snagged Groot from, below. This immediately led to people saying the star would be voicing one of the two unannounced character’s for James Gunn‘s upcoming space epic. We’ve heard that Marvel are looking at some big names for Rocket Raccoon, but now people are speculating that Diesel will bring the giant wooden Guardian of the Galaxy to life. The role would require Diesel to say “I am Groot” in several different ways and with varying inflections. I think he could probably pull that off. Now obviously this is all rumor for now. Diesel is working to get people talking about him (and his upcoming Riddick flick), so we’ll have to wait and see if jumped the gun on the announcement or he’s just trying to ride the Marvel bandwagon. What do you think about Vin possibly voicing a giant piece of wood?
