Top 10 Video Games for the Holidays

Got a gamer on your holiday list?  Then you have loads of choices for what to give them this holiday season.  Below, we have gathered just a few of the games that can have any lover of video games hopping up and down as soon as they open one of these top ten video games for 2011.

  1. Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – Got a gamer that has obsessed with any of the previous four versions?  Then they have probably been dropping hints left and right on this game.  It follows the Nordic adventures of a Viking type hero in a land full of dragons and is one of the most hyped games of the season.
  2. Batman: Arkham City – Don’t let the title fool you.  Although it is the same Batman that can be seen on Saturday morning cartoons, the game follows his adventures through an insane asylum.  However, older gamers will greatly enjoy this interactive game that has been heralded as the best comic book video game ever.
  3. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 – The latest in the Call of Duty series, lovers of the game have not been disappointed at the latest version.  It is also a good choice for those who like to play online with others.
  4. Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword – The first game on the list to be appropriate for younger players, this game is exclusively for the Nintendo Wii.  It follows the sword in the stone adventures of Link as he travels Hyrule to save the princess.
  5. Dead Space 2 – Perhaps your gamer is a fan of horror video games.  If so, this is a must see for them.  The sequel finds Isaac Clarke breaking out of a mental ward and into yet another haunted space station.
  6. Uncharted 3 – Get a sort of Indiana Jones type game here.  Available for the PS3, it is often touted as having one of the best characters and story lines in gaming.
  7. Star Wars: TheOldRepublic– If your gamer is all about the PC playing games, give this one a look.  It takes place in the Star Wars universe and is in the same vein of World of Warcraft.
  8. Battlefield 3 – One of the best features of this game is that it is popular and available for Xbox 360, PS3, and the PC.  It sold five million copies in its first week and is in the same vein as Call of Duty.
  9. Assassin’s Creed: Revelations – Become a hitman in the Renaissance era in this game.  The first game wasn’t expected to do well at all, but the storyline and play were so intriguing that the third installment is one of the most popular games for the holidays.
  10. Gift Card – If all else fails, get a gift card.  There are specialty stores, such as Game Stop, that specialize in video games.  Or get one from an electronics store, such as Best Buy, to get your gamer exactly what they want.
