UPDATE: It Looks Like Taskmaster May NOT Be in Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.

by

taskmasterJoss Whedon has said that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is more about the average, everyday people of the Marvel Universe and how they deal with being in an amazing world filled with superheroes. He also said there may be some powered people and Marvel characters along the way, but we shouldn’t be looking for Easter Eggs every episode. It seems there is going to be one Marvel character early on and we won’t have to look too hard for him.

SHIELDTV.Net is reporting that Travis Love will be appearing in the pilot episode the series as Tony Masters. Anthony “Tony” Masters is better known to comic book readers as Taskmasker, a villain and sometimes hero who has photographic reflexes and the ability to mimic any voice.  Masters will be brought to life by Travis Love. Love has been seen most recently in 10 episodes of The Walking Dead this past season as Bowman, the silent henchmen always beside the Governor. What do you think about Taskmaster showing up in S.H.I.E.L.D.? Do you hope he crosses into the Marvel movie world before long?

Update: It seems that ShieldTV.Net picked up the Travis Love news from the ever reliable IMDB. Travis Love IS NOT playing Tony Masters. Now I’m not sure if that means Love isn’t involved at all or if he’s just not playing Taskmaster. Here’s what the Editor at TVLine.Com had to say. So do you believe it or is this a fake denial?
