UPDATE: It seems the deal isn’t as far along as Latino Review thought. EW‘s Geoff Boucher didn’t debunk the scoop, but he did say it’s going to take a little more time for the Harrison Ford deal to close. The back and forth between studio and agent has begun, so we’ll know something in the near future. Keep it tuned in here at CBT for all the Star Wars updates.
Harrison Ford deal? My source says not yet.”It will not be for weeks and perhaps months.”

Not a huge surprise here, but it looks like Harrison Ford may be close to closing a deal for a return to the Star Wars universe. We’ve heard a few times since Disney bought everything Lucas related that Ford was open to the idea of returning. Latino Review is reporting that the Corellian smuggler will be back for the first entry in a new trilogy.
Details are pretty scarce, but Latino Review says the actor has signed on for what is reportedly a pretty large role. If this deal is closing then we should hear more about it soon. As with everything else we hear, take this with a grain of salt until it’s officially announced. If this turns out to be true though, it would signal that the original cast will feature heavily in JJ Abrams new take and we can expect to hear news on Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher soon. What do you think? Were you expecting that scruffy looking nerf herder to show up?
