doctor whoThe Doctor Who 50th anniversary celebration doesn’t start and end with The Day of The Doctor. The BBC is rolling out numerous documentaries and special programs for the big episode, but there’s also a special docudrama looking at the earliest days of the show from writer/actor/executive producer/all-around man about town Mark Gatiss. We’ve seen several images from the highly anticipated production, but now we have two trailers for An Adventure in Space and Time.

David Bradley stars as William Hartnell/The First Doctor in the 90 minute TV movie. It will air on BBC Two on November 21st with the BBC America premiere taking place the next day. The two trailers are from BBC Two and BBC America feature different footage showing off the cast that looks eerily similar to their real life counterparts. What do you think about the trailers? Will you be tuning in for this one?

Travel back to witness the genius that was the first Doctor, William Hartnell (DAVID BRADLEY, Game of Thrones, Broadchurch) and the unlikely production team behind the series, Verity Lambert (JESSICA RAINE, Call the Midwife), Waris Hussein (SACHA DHAWAN, After Earth) and Sydney Newman (BRIAN COX, The Bourne Identity, X2: X-Men United).
Actor William Hartnell felt trapped by a succession of hard-man roles. Wannabe producer Verity Lambert was frustrated by the TV industry’s glass ceiling. Both of them were to find unlikely hope and unexpected challenges in the form of a Saturday tea-time drama. Allied with a team of unusual but brilliant people, they went on to create the longest running science fiction series ever made.
