Two New The Hobbit: Desolation Of Smaug Images Are More Fun Than A Barrel Of Dwarves
Two new promo images from The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug have been released. The Peter Jackson directed sequel is four months away from release, and fans are hungry for any and all information they can get. We’ve gotten one trailer, a few behind the scenes featurettes, and a handful of images, but it’s never enough for the hardcore Tolkein fans. The new images (from The One Ring via Bleeding Cool) feature the dwarves in the iconic barrel escape scene from the book. You can see things have been changed up slightly from the source. The dwarves don’t look sick for one thing, and they’re under attack now. We saw arrows flying around in the brief glimpse of the barrel escape in the trailer, but you can see a few arrows actually land close to our tiny band of adventurers in the image below. The second image shows Bilbo reflected in the dragon Smaug‘s eye. I’m sure we’ll see a lot more images and promotional pieces in a similar vein as this one as we get closer to the movie. What do you think of the new pics? The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug flies into theaters December 13th.
