Two Anti-Heroes Get Animated In MARVEL’s Avengers Confidential: Black Widow & Punisher

punisher bannerMarvel‘s next animated feature, or rather anime feature, will have The Punisher and Black Widow teaming up to take down the villainous Leviathan in Marvel’s Avengers Confidential: Black Widow & Punisher. The two anti-heroes aren’t the only two big shots appearing in Mad House‘s latest animated special, Hulk, Iron Man, Thor, War Machine, and even Captain Marvel will have roles as well. Entertainment Weekly had the first trailer for the upcoming movie.

Dexter‘s Jennifer Carpenter and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3‘s Brian Bloom will voice Black Widow and Punisher, respectively. Mad House has done some great work with their Marvel anime TV shows (Blade, Wolverine, X-Men), but their first venture into feature length movies just began with last year’s Iron Man: Rise of the Technovore. Punisher was the standout star of the show (voiced by Norman Reedus then), and it looks like they’re going to capitalize on it with this movie. The rest of the voice cast hasn’t been announced at this time but I’m sure we’ll be hearing more about this direct to video release before it hits March 25. Click the pic below to see the trailer since EW doesn’t make their videos embeddable.

After interfering with a top secret mission, The Punisher is taken into custody by S.H.I.E.L.D. agent and Avenger Black Widow. At the orders of Director Nick Fury, Punisher and Black Widow are sent on a mission to stop Leviathan, a global terrorist organization that plans to sell stolen S.H.I.E.L.D. technology to the highest bidder. Now, the vigilante and spy must work together to prevent this technology from falling into the wrong hands. The fate of the world, and of the Avengers, hangs in the balance
