Tom Hiddleston In Talks To Star In The Crow Reboot
The entertainment world had one big story left before everything shuts down for the weekend. Jeff Sneider of The Wrap is reporting that Loki may go from villain to hero as Tom Hiddleston is in early talks to star in Relativity Media‘s re-imagined movie about an avenging spirit who gets a little help from from a special bird. The Crow was originally adapted from James O’Barr‘s comic book series and was made a movie in 1994 with Brandon Lee.
According to The Wrap, Hiddleston had dinner with the producers of the film and showed them a makeup test he had done on his own in London (possibly around the time of Thor: The Dark World filming). He will do a proper makeup test sometime next week. As you well know, The Crow has a very iconic look so it’s important to get it correct. The film is set to go into production this fall, though that could change depending on what happens in the next few weeks. The film will be directed by F. Javier Guiterrez from a screenplay by Cliff Dorfman (Warrior). The film has been in development for a while with many actors attached to star. At one point Mark Whalberg was said to be close to snagging the role. Hiddleston is an excellent choice, his comic book movie pedigree aside. He is a fantastic actor and would make for a inspired choice for Eric Draven. His ability to “project both a light and dark side” is part of what got producers looking at him.
