Tom Hiddleston Fills The Hole Left By Benedict Cumberbatch Leaving Guillermo Del Toro’s Crimson Peak
When it was announced that Benedict Cumberbatch was departing Guillermo Del Toro‘s Crimson Peak, rumors immediately started swirling that the actor left so he could rejoin director J.J. Abrams for Star Wars VII. Cumberbatch‘s reps have denied the rumors, but denials mean nothing nowadays. While we’re still waiting to see what Cumberbatch does next, we now know who will be filling his role for Crimson Peak. It is being reported today that Tom Hiddleston will be stepping in and filling the hole left by his War Horse co-star.
The Wrap is reporting that Hiddleston has signed on for the haunted house thriller. Production of the film will begin in January, so this just further confirms that Hiddleston won’t be involved with Avengers: Age of Ultron. Joss Whedon said Loki doesn’t feature but nobody really believed him. Crimson Peak also stars Charlie Hunnam (who recently joined the 50 Shades Of Grey movie, not that you would care), Jessica Chastain, and Mila Wasikowska. What do you think about Hiddleston filling in for Cumberbatch? Do you hope they star in a movie together soon (come on, War Horse doesn’t really count)?
