Todd McFarlane To Appear At Phoenix Comicon!

by

We have some great news for those who will attend Phoenix Comicon 2014! The man himself, Todd McFarlane will be at this year’s convention! He will be signing autographs and moderating a panel. Here are more details courtesy of the Phoenix Comicon press release:

We are very excited to announce a special guest appearance by Todd McFarlane at Phoenix Comicon 2014 on Sunday, June 8th! As part of this event, Todd will have a limited number of free autograph passes available in the Exhibitor Hall starting at 10 a.m. in the autograph area. Passes are first come, first served, limited to one per attendee, and you must be over 13 years old to get a pass. Each pass holder is limited to two autographs – no photography or sketches are available at this signing. After the signing, Todd will be moderating Stan Lee’s panel in the North Ballroom! This is an event you will not want to miss!

Cartoonist, artist, writer, toy designer and entrepreneur, Todd is best known for his work in comic books, such as the series Spawn. McFarlane became a comic book superstar due to his work on Marvel Comics’ Spider-Man franchise, on which he was the artist to draw the first full appearances of the supervillain Venom. In 1992, he helped form Image Comics, pulling the occult anti-hero character Spawn from his high school portfolio and updating him for the 1990s. Spawn was a popular hero in the 1990s and encouraged a trend in creator-owned comic book properties. Since leaving his duties on Spawn, McFarlane has illustrated comic books less often, focusing on entrepreneurial efforts, such as McFarlane Toys and Todd McFarlane Entertainment, a film and animation studio.

How cool is that? Since tickets are extremely limited, make sure you are there early. This is an opportunity you don’t want to miss.
