Tintin And Captain America Featured Among The Nominees For The Saturn Awards

The Invention of Hugo and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 lead the nominations in ten categories each, but Captain America is also featured with seven nominations.

The First Avenger competes in the categories of Best Science Fiction Film, Best Actor (Chris Evans), Best Supporting Actor (Stanley Tucci), Best Music (Alan Silvestri), Best Production Design (Rick Heinrichs), Best Costume Design (Anna B. Sheppard) and Best Special Effects (with Mark Soper, Christopher Townsend and Paul Corbould).Saturn
The Adventures of Tintin appears in six categories: Best Director for Steven Spielberg, Best Music with John Williams, Best Production Design for Kim Sinclair, Best Editing with Michael Kahn, Best Special Effects for Scott E. Anderson, Matt Aitken, Joe Letteri, Matthias Menz and Keith Miller, and Best Animation.

X-Men: First Class participates with two nominations: Best Science Fiction Film and Best Makeup for Dave Elsey, Fran Needham and Conor O’Sullivan.

Other comic book adaptations are also present:

Thor appears in Best Supporting Actor, Tom Hiddleston, Best Production Design, with Bo Welch, and Best Costume Design, with Alexandra Byrne.

Cowboys & Aliens competes for Best Supporting Actor with Harrison Ford.

Conan the Barbarian is present competing for Best Makeup with Shaun Smith and Scott Wheeler.

In the television categories, The Walking Dead competes with two nominations, for Best Presentation on Television and Best Supporting Actor for Norman Reedus.

Director Martin Scorsese will receive The George Pal Memorial Award, in recognition of his career.
