Tim Blake Nelson Digs Up A Role In FANTASTIC FOUR Reboot
In true Fox fashion, the studio is gearing up for a rather unique take on the first family of comics. From the actors that have been cast, we know that director Josh Trank is taking a much different approach to the origins of the Fantastic Four. Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Jamie Bell and Michael B. Jordan will be filling the roles of the heroic foursome, while Tobey Kebbell will be playing the antagonist Victor Von Doom. The film is scheduled to begin filming soon, so the rest of the cast will be coming together quickly. Today, another key role is just about in the books.
Tim Blake Nelson is in final talks to join the reboot, according to Heat Vision. The role he will be taking on is that of Harvey Elder, a quirky, yet brilliant scientist. Fans of the comics will also know that Elder eventually becomes the baddie known as Mole Man. According to the trade, however, Mole Man won’t be appearing in the film. Rather, he will be set up for future installments in the franchise.
This won’t be Nelson’s first foray into the comic book movie realm as he previously played Samuel Sterns in the Marvel film The Incredible Hulk. His character was intended to become the insane Leader but as it stands now, that will likely never happen. Simon Kinberg penned the script for the upcoming sequel and as mentioned above, Josh Tranks of Chronicle fame is set to direct. The film is set for a June 2015 release.
