Three More X-Men Confirmed For Days Of Future Past

xmen threeThree more members of the original X-Men cast have been confirmed as returning by director Bryan Singer. The director took to Twitter yet again to confirm casting for the upcoming First Class sequel. The three mutants reappearing are Iceman, Shadowcat, and Rogue as portrayed by Shawn Ashmore, Ellen Page, and Anna Paquin respectively.

Bobby Drake, Kitty Pryde and Rogue will be brought back into the X-movie universe. When we last saw the young mutants Rogue was powerless, Iceman had finally taken on his fully icy form, and Kitty Pryde had went head-to-head with the Juggernaut and won.If you’ve read Days of Future Past, you know that Kitty Pryde has a huge part in the story. Her mind travels back in time to warn the mutants about an apocalyptic, Sentinel-filled future. It will be interesting to see if and how much, if any, Ellen Page’s part changes.

Singer’s comment about Brett Ratner not killing them off raises an interesting point. Does this mean the story will stay in line with X-3 and leave out Cyclops and Jean Grey? On a brighter note, does it mean we could see Kelsey Grammer back as the older Beast? There’s not many original cast members we haven’t heard from, so it’s probably only a matter of time before we know for sure. That’s another big set of the original cast confirmed as returning. Who do you have your money on next?
