Things Go Ape-Sh*t In Final DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES Trailer
A whole new generation of fans are being exposed to the world of Planet of The Apes and things have come a long way since the days of Charlton Heston or even Tim Burton. Gone are the days of actors donning ape-like makeup. These days, the art of motion capture has taken over and the result is truly stunning. Rupert Wyatt got the ball rolling with Rise of the Planet of the Apes in 2011, which set up a prequel to the story that many of us are already familiar with. By the end of that film, the simian virus was in full effect and humans were falling victim to it. On the other hand, the apes were thriving. Fast forward a few years and we move into Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, where humans are fighting for survival and the fear of the apes taking over the land is growing. Both will do what ever it takes to survive.
This new sequel, directed by Matt Reeves is a much darker film than the previous installment, which is very evident in the latest, and final, trailer for Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. I think it’s fair to say that a battle is coming and both sides will have casualties. The film stars Gary Oldman, Jason Clarke, Andy Serkis, Keri Russell, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Judy Greer and Toby Kebbell. The film hits theaters July 11th.
On a quick side note, Toby Kebbell, who plays Koba in the film, the ape who is not a big fan of humans. Kebbell as we now know will be portraying Victor Von Doom in the upcoming Fantastic Four reboot, so this may give us a good idea of how he does at playing the big baddies. Keep an eye out for him.
