Things Get Dark In The First Official Clip And New Pics From CONSTANTINE
Earlier today we got our first look at NBC‘s Constantine series thanks to a rather jam-packed and impressive 3-minute trailer. Now that you’ve had a chance to watch it two or three times, NBC has decided to conjure up a few more Constantine goodies before the day is done. The first official clip for the series premiere has been unleashed along with a few new images from the series based on DC and Vertigo‘s wildly popular Hellblazer series.
IGN premiered the first clip showing off the first meeting between John Constantine (Matt Ryan) and the lady who will be his companion of sorts, Liv Aberdine (Lucy Griffiths). We saw their meeting teased in the extended trailer, but now we get to see the entire scene unfold. And now that the trailer and clip have been unleashed, the section of the NBC website dedicated to the new series has experienced an update. Some new images of Ryan as the blonde-haired, sarcastic fighter of the supernatural have been posted along with a nice shot of Liv. The official series logo and a few tiny character headshots were uploaded as well. You can see it all below and you can check out Constantine later this year when it takes over our TVs every Friday night at 10pm EST.
Based on the wildly popular comic book series “Hellblazer” from DC Comics, seasoned demon hunter and master of the occult John Constantine (Matt Ryan, “Criminal Minds”) specializes in giving hell… hell. Armed with a ferocious knowledge of the dark arts and his wickedly naughty wit, he fights the good fight — or at least he did. With his soul already damned to hell, he’s decided to leave his do-gooder life behind, but when demons target Liv (Lucy Griffiths, “True Blood”), the daughter of one of Constantine’s oldest friends, he’s reluctantly thrust back into the fray – and he’ll do whatever it takes to save her. Before long, it’s revealed that Liv’s “second sight” — an ability to see the worlds behind our world and predict supernatural occurrences — is a threat to a mysterious new evil that’s rising in the shadows. Now it’s not just Liv who needs protection; the angels are starting to get worried too. So, together, Constantine and Liv must use her power and his skills to travel the country, find the demons that threaten our world and send them back where they belong. After that, who knows… maybe there’s hope for him and his soul after all.
