There’s Nothing To Fear But SINESTRO Himself: The Villain Gets His Own Series This April
Sinestro made a triumphant return in the final pages of last month’s Forever Evil #4, ready to fight the Crime Syndicate of America‘s version of Green Lantern called Power Ring. While we await the showdown between the two ring slingers, news has hit that Sinestro will be getting his own ongoing series this April from writer Cullen Bunn (Deadpool Kills, Sixth Gun, Magneto) and artist Dale Eaglesham (Green Lantern #23.4: Sinestro).
Newsarama had the announcement earlier today, saying the upcoming series will show Sinestro returning to the spotlight after the events of Geoff Johns’ Green Lantern finale that seemingly wrapped up the Sinestro Corps leader’s story. Newsarama says of Bunn‘s series:
[It] finds Sinestro desperate having lost everything he’s ever loved – his home, family, and his only friend. But his one-time enemy/one-time Sinestro Corps recruit Lyssa Drak (who played a prominent role in September’s Sinestro Villains Month one-shot) reminds him he’ll always have fear. The series will follow the one-time Green Lantern as he either takes back the Yellow Lantern Corps, or forges whatever new destiny the universe has in store for him.
Bunn will be making the rounds doing interviews about his first DC work since his 2011 stint on Superman/Batman. We’ll be sure to keep you up to date on the latest in the Green Lantern world. This marks the 6th Lantern title for DC and the second in as many months for a villain/anti-hero, with Harley Quinn currently holding down her own title. What do you think about Sinestro getting his own comic?
