The X-Men Will Celebrate Their 50th Anniversary With The Battle Of The Atom
Brian Michael Bendis, Jason Aaron, and Brian Wood will bring their three X-books together for a big 50th Anniversary celebration. Forget X-Men Days of Future Past, this story will bring the past, present, and future together for The Battle of the Atom. The crossover was announced earlier today at C2E2.
The X-Men of the past in Bendis‘ book, as well as the present X-Men, will be joined by a group of tomorrow’s X-Men hellbent on sending the old crew back to their own times. The future mutants will add another dimension to the Cyclops/Wolverine divide we’re still seeing played out. That means the X-Men are waging another huge war with…themselves. The story will consist of ten parts which kicks off in Battle of the Atom #1 drawn by Frank Cho. Then the story will run through Uncanny X-Men #12-13, All-New X-Men #16-17, Wolverine & The X-Men #36-37, X-Men #5-6, and then finish up in X-Men: Battle of the Atom #2. The future X-Men will consist of Kate Pryde, Molly Hayes, Deadpool, Lady Xorn, a futuristically mutated Beast, and something called Ice-Thing. The picture of the Junior Wolverine character was supposed to be a surprise, but media websites ran the image with their panel coverage. What do you think about the planned crossover? Will you be reading along with the Battle of the Atom?
