The Mandarin Schools The President In New Iron Man 3 Clip
We’ve gotten our second clip from the upcoming Shane Black directed Iron Man threequel by way of Jonathan Ross. Sir Ben Kingsley stopped by The Jonathan Ross show last night to talk about his career, his role as the Mandarin in Iron Man 3, and even to sing a song. The clip shown during Kingsley‘s interview shows the Mandarin announcing to the President that only two lessons remain as he holds an accountant for the Roxxon Oil Corporation hostage. You may remember Roxxon was the brand of gas Agent Coulson fueled up with in the short “A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To Thor’s Hammer.” You can check out the clip, as well as the full interview and the song Kingsley sang below. The Iron Man stuff kicks off around 14:50 and Kingsley‘s rendition of “What A Wonder World” starts around 18:50. During the Iron Man 3 part of the interview, Kingsley discusses how he went about creating the character who uses Chinese iconography yet has a widely American accent saying “His voice is American…that’s particularly disconcerting for the people he’s attacking. He’s not Chinese.“ He also explores what makes the Mandarin a good villain. What do you think of the Mandarin‘s lesson?
