The CAPTAIN AMERICA Cast Weigh In On The Upcoming BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN Fight

by

batman capSo by now we all know that the Marvel vs. DC battle just got a lot more interesting with the news that Captain America 3 will be going head-to-head with Batman vs. Superman in 2016. If you thought both factions were crazy now, just wait a few years. The smack talking has already begun on both sides, but now the cast of Captain America: The Winter Soldier are getting in on the action. While walking the red carpet for the highly-anticipated, and already highly-acclaimed film, Access Hollywood asked Samuel L. Jackson, Chris Evans, Sebastian Stan, and Anthony Mackie what they thought about the upcoming bout. Some of the actors were nice, others did not pull their punches.

You can go ahead and skip to the videos if you wish, but we’ll run down what each man had to say. We’ll start with Nick Fury‘s comments about the distinguished competition. Jackson talked about a few things before the DC question was brought up, but he said “After the audience sees this [The Winter Soldier], I pretty much think so. The bar is going higher and higher. Hopefully these guys can up there on that bar. DC is having some issues. DC is having a little trouble with Marvel.

The film’s star was a little nicer than the his boss Nick Fury wasEvans may have been a little nicer since he hadn’t even heard the news yet, or at least that’s what he said. He told the site, “Really? I didn’t even know that. Wow! Really? Wait a minute, so you’re saying we have to go against them? Well that’s a shame” he says with a smile. He went on to state that Superman could beat everyone, so Batman doesn’t stand too much of a chance.

Sebastian Stan, the film’s subtitular villain, hit a little harder with his words than Sam Jackson. Holding absolutely nothing back, Stan even pulled out the dreaded Green Lantern card. He said “I mean all you really have to do to know the answer to that question is just look at the track record of Marvel vs. DC [looks at camera with a raised eyebrow]… ‘Green Lantern.’ But you know, I’m biased. I don’t know. I’m on this side. I’m with the brothers [Joe and Anthony Russo]! They did a great film. If they want to do another one, I’ll be a part of it or not, I don’t know. I’m game.

Finally, the ever amusing Anthony Mackie stated he had faced off against Ben Affleck before, so he has no problem beating him again. He excited exclaimed, “[Laughs] Done! I’ve been up against Ben Affleck before. I won! Yeah. Hell yeah!” When asked what he thought about the Batman vs. Superman battle, the actor said “Superman is kind of a square. I’ve always wished Superman was a brother. So, I think Batman has to because Batman is cooler! He has a lair, all the chicks, he’s stupid rich and he has all the gimmicks. He has Morgan Freeman! Done! Superman don’t got no Morgan Freeman, you know what I mean? Done! Batman: 1, Superman: 0.” So there you go. The Captain America cast are ready to throw down in 2016. This is the internet, so I think we’re all supposed to pick a side of the argument and fight til the death. Or until someone posts a cute cat pictures. I’m not entirely sure what the rule is. What do you think about the casts’ comments?
