007’S Latest Mission Available on Digital HD February 5

Blu-ray and DVD To Follow Beginning February 12

LOS ANGELES, CA (January 24, 2013) – Box-office smash, SKYFALL, will soon be available to own in high-definition, it was announced today by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios, Sony Pictures Entertainment and Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment. SKYFALL will release on Digital HD February 5th across all digital stores including Amazon, CinemaNow, iTunes, PlayStation, VUDU and Xbox Live. The SKYFALL Blu-ray and DVD will follow on February 12th in North America and February 18th in the United Kingdom with additional international markets to follow through March.

Directed by Oscar® winner Sam Mendes and starring Daniel Craig as James Bond, SKYFALL’s high definition home entertainment release follows the phenomenal theatrical success of the 23rd installment of the longest-running franchise in film history. Taking in more than $1 billion (USD), the British secret-service agent dominated the worldwide box-office and has become the highest grossing film ever in the United Kingdom – Bond’s home country.

Accolades continued with the recent announcement of eight BAFTA® [British Academy of Film and Television Arts] nominations including Outstanding British Film; Supporting Actor, Javier Bardem; and Supporting Actress, Judi Dench. Adele’s “Skyfall” was recognized with a Golden Globe® award and an Academy Award® nomination for Original Song, one of the film’s five Oscar® nominations.

The theatrical debut of SKYFALL capped a year-long celebration of James Bond’s golden anniversary. Honoring 50 years since 007 first appeared on-screen, the global campaign was highlighted with the release of BOND 50, a collectible box-set featuring all 22 James Bond films on Blu-ray Disc for the first time in one complete offering. The box-set includes a placeholder for SKYFALL so consumers can complete their 50th anniversary collection.

In SKYFALL Bond’s loyalty to M (Judi Dench) is tested as her past returns to haunt her. With MI6 now compromised from both inside and out, M is left with one ally she can trust: Bond. 007 takes to the shadows – aided only by field agent, Eve (Naomie Harris) – following a trail to the mysterious Silva (Javier Bardem), whose lethal and hidden motives have yet to reveal themselves.

With the Blu-ray, go behind-the-scenes of Bond’s latest mission with more than three hours of in-depth special features. Shooting Bond brings adrenaline-hungry fans closer to the heart-stopping action and 007’s world of worthy villains, glamorous women, exotic locations and the coolest gadgets.

Nothing in entertainment quite compares to the summer movie season! With The Avengers nearly out of the way, who will challenge the superhero team up for the number 1 spot? We put together 10 movies you don't want to miss this year! And if you haven't yet, go see The Avengers! NOW!

wolverinept, 10 More Movies You Cant Miss In 2012

I know, I know. The Avengers has already broke records everywhere, and you’re doing a summer preview now?!But it seems like we moviegoers have more options than usual this summer!

Summer is here and that means popcorn, blockbusters and millions of dollars in the pockets of actors and actresses. With one blockbuster (The Avengers) already setting the bar extremely high, here’s a look at some of the other movies you’ll be seeing over the next months.

The Amazing Spider-Man

After three highly successful films in theaters, Sony Pictures has decided to completely renew the Spider-Man franchise. “The Amazing Spider-Man” will tell the story of one of the major Marvel heroes since its inception. The villain of the novel production is still in theaters: the Lizard.

Hits theaters on July 3rd, 2012.

The Dark Knight Rises

The final chapter of the trilogy of Batman promises to be epic. Eight years after Batman (Christian Bale) takes the fall for Two Face’s crimes, he’s still hated by the citizens of Gotham. However, when the evil Bane (Tom Hardy) shows up to wreak havoc on the city, the Dark Knight steps up to protect his home.

Reaches theaters July 20, 2012

Total Recall

Success in the 90′s with Arnold Schwarzenegger, the remake of “Total Recall” should tell the same story, but now with state of the art special effects its sure to be even more devastating. An unassuming factory worker (Colin Farrell) finds his life turned upside down after undergoing a recreational mind-altering procedure. With the help of Kate Beckinsale and Jessica Biel, he struggles to make sense of his new reality.

In theaters August 3rd, 2012

The Bourne Legacy

Whoa, how do you make a Jason Bourne thriller without Matt Damon, or even the Bourne identity? Expanding on novelist Robert Ludlum’s universe of top-level espionage, the underrated director of Duplicity and Michael Clayton (and screenwriter on every Bourne flick thus far) brings new hero Jeremy Renner into the fray — along with Edward Norton, Rachel Weisz and the previous films’ Albert Finney and Joan Allen — as another bad-ass CIA operative.

“The Bourne Legacy” movie hits theaters on August 3, 2012

The Expendables 2

Yet another sequel, “The Expendables 2,” starring Sylvester Stallone and Bruce Willis will be out on August 17. The premise of the film is the expendable’s revenge for the death of one of their own and is sure to be full of disasters and explosions. Sly repeats the dose in a production that promises to be explosive, after all you see on the screen together Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis, Jean-Claude Van Damme and Chuck Norris!

The Expendables 2, in theaters August 17, 2012

Resident Evil: Retribution

The franchise based in the gaming world most successful in cinema history reaches its fifth and perhaps final chapter. The plot of “Resident Evil 5: Retribution” sees Alice fight alongside a resistance movement in the continuing battle against the Umbrella Corporation and the undead, but still promises plenty of action, zombies and special effects.

In theatres: September 14, 2012

Dredd

Another production that was a relative success in the 90s but starring Sylvester Stallone. In the film, which takes place in the futuristic city of Mega City One, Judge Dredd make offenders comply with the law at any cost, even if it is needed to run them down without mercy.

In theatres: September 21, 2012

Skyfall

The spy James Bond returns to screens in the twenty-second film in the franchise. The new Bond film promo turns out to be a barrage of explosions, dubstep and associative word games. Still, it has to be better than Quantum of Solace right?!

In theatres: November, 2012

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn: Part 2

You must be wondering what makes a film like this in a list toward the nerds and geeks. However, it is easy to explain. The Twilight Saga, with its four films so far, has earned nearly $4 billion at the box office and, of course, the last episode of the franchise will be no different. When we last left Bella (Kristen Stewart) and Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson), she had just survived childbirth and had her baby Renesmee.

Opens November 16, 2012

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey

If you liked “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy, prepare yourself to return to Middle Earth in “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey”. Considering how good the Lord of the Rings films were, it’s hard not to be excited for part one of this prequel of sorts. Martin Freeman seems like a great choice for Bilbo, and it’ll be great to see some of the original LotR cast back.

Opens 14 December 2012
