New Synopsis For CW’s Amazon Emerges

A new log line for CW’s proposed Wonder Woman origin series called Amazon has emerged in a new issue of Production Weekly (thanks to @_NerdyGeek_ ) listing info on new TV series and movies. The show will features a young Wonder Woman before she dons the bracelets, tiara, and lasso in a new world she doesn’t understand. The CW’s Smallville-esque Wonder Woman series is in active development, and based on a report a few months ago, looking for its leading lady. The log line names the character Iris, but as Geoff Johns stated when the news of the story first hit it’s just a codename to “avoid speculation.” Check out the synopsis that’s dripping with CW-ness and let us know what you think.

Chronicles female superhero’s life as a young Amazonian, before she becomes a warrior princess with super powers. Iris, comes from a remote, secluded country and until now has spent most of her life as a soldier and a leader on the battlefield. Because of relentless brutality of her life at home, Iris looks at our world with absolute awe and astonishment. She’s delighted -and just as often horrified – by the aspects of everyday life that we take for granted: skyscrapers, traffic, ice cream. It’s all new and fascinating and sometimes slightly troubling – to her. Iris is completely unschooled in our world, our culture, our customs. And she’s completely inexperienced at interpersonal relationships. She has no social filter, does not suffer fools, and tends to do and say exactly what’s on her mind at all times. She’s bluntly, refreshingly honest. She can tell when you’re lying to her. And she doesn’t have time or patience for politics or tact because she’s too busy trying to experience everything our world has to offer. There are too many sights to see – and things to learn – and people to care for. Hers is a true, noble, and generous heart. And she will fight and die for the people she loves. Iris is a fierce warrior with the innocent heart of a romantic – and she will fight to the death to make the world safe for innocents and true romantics everywhere.

HO HO HO!!!! Sorry I had some cookie caught in my throat, hello and welcome to day 2 of Not So Santa Mike’s 12 Days of Christmas! I give to you Marvels Cinematic Universe: Phase One-Avengers Assembled Deluxe Pack, this was indeed offered at the 2012 San Diego Comic Con, but due to rights and a bunch of legal jargon it was held back and will be released in April 2013 and will have added things like a look into Iron Man 3, as well as a look into Marvel: Phase Two. A great gift with so many goodies it’s ridiculous and all for a little over $200.00 after tax here right now!

Rebel Blood #1: Another Rebellious And Bloody Review

The zombie culture outbreak phenomenon that has been overflowing from nerd culture, as of recently, does not seem to be dissipating in the slightest. Sadly, the fiction that has been driving the craze has become extremely saturated and I’m sure many of you are craving a different type of tissue to sink your teeth into. Luckily Image Comic’s new 5-part mini series Rebel Blood, introduces a much-needed additive of zombie animals to help reanimate the phenom.

Alex Link and Riley Rossmo (Green Wake) have created a newly infected breed of zombie fiction revolving around a fallen fireman named Chuck Neville who is nothing more than a forest security guard, but for fire. This changes shortly after a distress call from a nearby city proclaiming that a rabie like mutation outbreak has occurred and is informed to stay put. Chuck, of course being our protagonist, defies these words of advice and ventures out to find other survivors while a cow-skull-wearing entity is looming amongst the pages.

Rossmo’s work can often times be difficult to follow due to his signature sense of eclectic art and will require several reads to recognize key characters and important plot devices that are being placed onto the pages. This could dampen the eeriness for some, or enhance it for others. Don’t be discouraged by the comic’s lack of solid plot footing, be patient and wait for other issues to elaborate. The story does appear muddled with its sudden flash-forward, flashback sequences but that’s half the charm of Rebel Blood.

Even though Rebel Blood is a zombie thriller at heart it still manages to toss in a few jabs of humor in the direction of zombie one-liners with such lines as “Buckshot makeover time” and “We never had a shot gun wedding, but this is a shotgun divorce, babe.”

There wasn’t as much zombie animals as I was hoping for, but there were several puss ridden wolfs, a tri-clops of an owl and plethora of rats with human appendages sprouting from their backs that did leave a burning image in my mind. The story mentions a poacher that could potential steer the story towards some interesting animal uprising events. Of course this is only speculation.

If you have not had the chance to have your stomach curdled by Rossmo’s previous endeavors now is definitely an ideal time for that with Rebel Blood. And if you didn’t happen to snag the first print a second edition will be available on the same day as issue 2 on April 25th.
