Last week, star of the moment Joseph Gordon-Levitt joined the cast as Johnny, along with Chris Meloni. Josh Brolin, who is another hot commodity in Hollywood, signed on to replace Clive Owen in the role of Dwight.

Three more actors are set to join the already star studded cast in Ray Liotta, Jeremy Piven and Juno Temple. According to the Playlist, details on the characters are being kept under wraps. This trio will be joining Bruce Willis, Mickey Rourke, Jessica Alba, Rosario Dawson, Jamie King, Dennis Haysbert and the previously mentioned Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Josh Brolin and Chris Meloni.

Ray Liotta is enjoying a bit of a resurgence in recent months, having starred alongside Brad Pitt in Killing The Softly and several new films landing in theaters this year. Temple was most recently seen in The Dark Knight Rises as Selina Kyle’s accomplice and will also be featured in numerous films this year.

Sin City: A Dame to Kill For will arrive in theaters October 4th, 2013

The original Batmobile from the 1960s Adam West series sold just a little while ago at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction. The car was the first one built by the legendary George Barris out of a Lincoln Futura. It had been on display in Hollywood for a while, but Barris finally decided to part ways with his creation. The decision came down to a coin flip according to Barris.

The car has been the talk of the auction world this week as some experts predicted the ride would go for a few million dollars. When the gavel finally landed, the car sold for an astounding $4.2 million. The car was brought out and followed by what can only be described as a mob trying to get close to the famous auto. Bidding hit a million as soon as it started, with the action going on for several minutes. George Barris was on hand to help entice bidders as well. Before the final bid was placed Barris took the Batman jacket off of his back and offered it to the winning bidder as an added incentive. The man who won the auction was Rick Champagne from Arizona. He said he would put the Batmobile in his living room and display it proudly.

The winner, his lady friend, and George Barris posed with the car shortly after the auction ended (via Barrett On Speed’s Twitter page). The Speed channel also posted a video chat with Barris about the famous car earlier today. Check out pictures from the auction and the video below. I was watching on TV and the whole thing was a pretty amazing sight. What do you think? Is the Batmobile worth $4.2 million to you?

There are few things in this world that entertain and inform. And even fewer things that entertain like this flick. Believe the hype about it cause, Tucker & Dale vs Evil IS the epitome of cool horror.

John Chihak, The Hardcore Review: It Should Have Been Called, Tucker & Dale Vs College Douchebags But In A Good Way

Every cliche you can think of is not in this flick. Cause the bumbling good ol’ boys are the good guys, I guess. And the so called hot and trendy cliche’ smart and, I guess sexy college students, are the bad guys. Sort of. The kill shots were freaking fantastic. Especially the wood chipper death. Oh man. There’s something so smirktastic about the so called killers wigging out and screaming like little girls as they ran in sheer terror as these college kids just kept “killing themselves.” The concept was truly great. The acting was so good, and the characters were spot on where they needed to be to pull this off.

Movie poster for Tucker & Dale vs Evil

This was a hilarious movie. And you gotta give props to a flick that doesn’t take itself too seriously, or at all for that matter. I try to be this way in my work as a comic book creator, and with my reviews. As you may know, I am usully drunk or at least on the way there when I write these. A friend of mine pointed out that this might taint it being an honest review. In actuality, I think it makes it even more honest, albeit with spelling and gramatical errors. That coupled with the fact that I use wrestling as a grading system is why I call it the “Hardcore Review.” That and I am wholley honest with each review. I don’t sugar coat it if I hated the book or movie I just watched or read.

A lot of journalistic integrity is lost in the art of the review, cause editors or publishers only want something positive written about an item being reviewed. Now, don’t get me wrong, art IS subjective, but if something is full of flaws and just plain sucks, then what do you want me to do about it? Lie? I am nothing if not honest about my feelings. To a point where it pisses people off at times. That’s why I am glad that Comic Book Therapy is allowing me to be honest with my reviews. Sure I gotta tone it down with the cussing, that just makes me have to be a bit more creative. So, it all works out.
In short, Tucker and Dale vs Evil is a super freaking fun movie. If you love horror movies, or campy B type flicks you’re gonna dig this one. Sure, there’s no titties in it, that’s the only drawback. But it didn’t need it. That would have just been icing on an already fragging delicious cake. You gotta see it to believe it. And trust me, the trailer didn’t give away all the fun. It’s streaming on Netflix and at your local Redbox. So what the eff are you waiting for? Go and watch it. Watch it with someone you love. Hell! Watch it with someone you hate. It’s that good.

Tucker and Dale fight college douchebaggery

So here’s the grade for this amazing flick: A truly great match from the early days of ECW, back when the E meanst Eastern. Tommy Dreamer fought the veteran, Jimmy Super Fly Snuka. The moment was not the entire match, but Dreamer kicking out of not one, but TWO Super Fly Splashes. No one had ever kicked out of one, let alone two. And after Snuka finally got the pin with a THIRD splash, he kicked the ever loving snot out of the rookie Dreamer. Chairs, and splashes were felt in that rickity ring in South Philly. And Dreamer began to cement himself as a fixture in the industry. He was there in the begining and he stayed until the end. In the words of Sabu, “Respect.”

IDW moved forward with the film announcement after the comic, created by Alan Robert, sold out only a week after its release. IDW was able to capture a reaction from Mr. Robert along with IDW’s Chief Creative Officer / Editor-in-Chief for IDW Publishing, released with the press release:

“The last few weeks have been a whirlwind of excitement, to say the least,” says creator, Robert. “Crawl to Me has already exceeded all of my expectations. Creating comics has been a life-long passion of mine and I’m extremely grateful to be given the chance to tell my crazy stories. To see them come to life on film is a whole other level of awesomeness. I love horror movies, especially the ones with shocking twist endings like The Sixth Sense and The Others, so it’s my goal to create that same type of jaw-dropping impact with Crawl to Me.”

“I knew Alan Robert had juice with his Wire Hangers series, and Crawl to Me is even more of a singular creator’s vision come to life,” said Chris Ryall, Chief Creative Officer / Editor-in-Chief for IDW Publishing. “To then see that graphic novel get voted Best Mini-Series of the Year by horror fans at ComicMonsters.com and now sell out its initial press run is very gratifying and appreciated. Even more, it speaks to the market for more unique comics amidst a world of superhero relaunches and big licensed comics.”

The most important audio recording released in the nineties wasn't a collection of songs by a self-tortured alternative star. Anyone with an ounce of culture in them is aware of the classic “Shut up Little Man” audio recordings. Well now it's a Tribeca Film documentary called Shut Up Little Man! Take a look ...

Wilt Manglicmot, Shut Up Little Man!

Shut up little man, shut up lil’ man, SHUT UP YOU LIL MAN!

These words are something that you think would be a viral sensation on youtube or some other internet outlet. However these words come from an era before the internet, the world of analog audio cassette tape. These words that were screamed by two old men became one of the first viral sensations and made two young men cult celebrities. In “SHUT UP LITTLE MAN! AN AUDIO MISADVENTURE” we explore the how the phenomenon was born and how it impacted the lives of all parties involved in a recording that became the nineties sensation that it was.

“SHUT UP LITTLE MAN! AN AUDIO MISADVENTURE” is a great documentary about this cult phenomenon of the nineties. Director Matthew Bate does a fantastic job of showing how the audio recordings started and all the pitfalls and broken friendships that were to come with the fame the tapes brought. The documentary not only explores the lives of Eddie Lee and Mitchell D.(the two men responsible for the recordings) but also delves into the lives of their old drunkard neighbors, Peter Haskett and Raymond Huffman, who would provide hours of content with their ridiculous over-the-top arguments.

“SHUT UP LITTLE MAN! AN AUDIO MISADVENTURE”!

One of the things that is refreshing about is that the movie does a great job of being neutral and let’s the stories from both sides unfold. Especially mid-movie when we are introduced to the pitfalls of popularity and what happens when Hollywood gets involved.

This is a must watch documentary if you can find it in your area. What starts off as a documentary exploring a pre-viral era cult phenomenon, evolves into a story about the human condition and how a few recordings can affect others.
