Fans of the Transformers film franchise are eagerly anticipating the fourth instalment- ‘Age of Extinction’, due for release next year. The films are based on the Hasbro and Tomy toys and centre on a race of alien robots who have found their way to Earth. Decepticons and Autobots are the two battling robot forces, with the Autobots wanting to protect humans and Decepticons wanting to destroy them and take over the earth. Despite this rivalry, they all come from a planet in outer space called Cybertron.

In the first film, we discover that Cybertron was destroyed millions of years ago and that the Transformers have come to Earth because they find out that their planet’s life source, a box called AllSpark, crash-landed on ours. The Decepticons want to destroy to Earth in order to bring their planet back to life and so an epic battle ensues between good and evil. The next two films followed this same story in one way or another, but, the new instalment in the action sci-fi series has a new cast and all new characters, although some of the original Transformer characters will still be in there.

Shia LaBeouf, who starred as the main human character in the first film three films, has been replaced with Mark Walberg. Nicola Peltz will play his daughter and Jack Reynor will play her boyfriend- both are relatively unknown at the moment, but they’re sure to become household names once the film is released. Other actors in ‘Age of Extinction’ include Kelsey Grammar, who plays the main villain and Sophie Myles in the role of a scientist. Peter Cullen returns as the voice of Autobot Optimus Prime.

The story takes place four years after the events of ‘Dark Side of the Moon’ and apparently has a darker, more serious tone. Once again an epic battle commences between the Autobots and the Decepticons, but this time the US government gets involved by trying to study Transformer technology and getting dangerously carried away.

Fans will have to wait until next year to see ‘Age of Extinction’, but Metro Play Casino have created a Transformers-themed game in the meantime. You can choose to play the Free Spins Bonus round as your favourite Transformer characters. Metro even gave one lucky winner a supercar experience, but unfortunately there was no guaranteed the car would transform into an Autobot and save the planet…

Game Informer learned earlier this month that High Moon studios would be working with a certain Marvel Franchise. It looks like it is going to be Deadpool.

High Moon’s best known work is Transformers: War for Cybertron and the planned sequel Fall of Cybertron. They are apparently developing a Deadpool game. If you go to Deadpoolgame.com there is a countdown clock that is currently sitting at 4 hours and 20 minutes. We’ll know more shortly, so stay tuned.

UPDATE : It turns out a Deadpool game is in the works and will come out in 2013. Nothing was really announced platform or specific release date wise, but IGN (who debuted the trailer) thinks that Nolan North a.k.a Nathan Drake of Uncharted is voicing Deadpool again in the trailer. He did voice the Merc with the Mouth in Hulk vs. and Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions.
