Stark Industries Invades Disneyland
On 4/13, Disneyland played host to a new exhibit at Innoventions, a showcase of future technology in Tomorrowland. The exhibit showcased every kind of Iron Man armor we have seen so far in the films. And boy was it a sight to see.
On exhibit were Mark I-VII and the brand new Mark XLII, the armor that has been advertised in Iron Man 3. Actual movie props were on hand, including the chest plate and helmet of the Mark I from Iron Man. Unfortunately, the other armors advertised, like Hulkbuster, weren’t there. There was a small hallway of poster sized pictures from the new movie, but nothing that hadn’t been seen before. Paul Bettany reprised his role as the voice of JARVIS, narrating the exhibit. There was a game that let people “put on” the Iron Man suit and deflect energy beams. The game was powered by the Kinect for XBox 360, so this could be released.
The exhibit was one of the busier attractions at Disneyland over the weekend. Disney blocked out Southern California annual passholders for the opening day, although it’s not certain if this was because of the exhibit. Lines quickly gathered, and it took me almost 45 minutes to just get into Innoventions. The exhibit is going to be there for the foreseeable future.
