Stanley Tucci Joins Michael Bay’s Transformers 4
Michael Bay seems to be the talk of CinemaCon today. Earlier, it was announced that Danny Woodburn would be playing Splinter, the rat turned ninja turtle mentor in Jonathan Liebsman’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle reboot, which is being produced by Michael Bay. News has come tonight that Bay will be adding a bit more star power to his cast of Transformers 4 in the form of Stanley Tucci.
Tucci’s role has yet to be announced, but he will be joining Mark Wahlberg, Jack Reynor and Nicola Peltz in the film. Not much is known about the film, other than it will be set in the same universe in which the previous films were set and that the robots will have a new design to them. We also know that Reynor’s character will have a racing background. Bay did add one little tid-bit about the film, saying it will involve a “Chase from Hell.” There has been some speculation that the Unicron story line may be used, as the idea of an “ancient threat” has been tossed out by Bay.
Tucci recently had a big part in Bryan Singer’s Jack the Giant Slayer, which under performed massively at the box office. He can be seen later this year in the highly anticipated Hunger Games: Catching Fire, where he plays the colorful Caesar Flickerman. Michael Bay’s next film, Pain & Gain, which also stars Mark Wahlberg, along with Dwayne Johnson and Anthony Mackie, opens later this month. Transformers 4 is scheduled for a June 2014 release.
