Sony Is Putting Venom On The Back Burner

by

VenomThe Amazing Spider-Man 2 wowed everyone this weekend at Comic Con. Between footage, Andrew Garfield showing up in the Spider-Man suit, and a few other surprises, fans at the con were buzzing.

One thing that was announced a while back, was that Sony was looking to possibly introduce Venom into this new set of Spider-Man movies and spin him off into his own movie. That however may not be the case anymore. At least for right now. Producer Matt Tollmach sat down with Crave Online to discuss The Amazing Spider-Man 2 where they touched on if the Venom movie still happening. “There’s nothing formal or official, but it’s always been a dream to make that movie. We’re just not there yet. Right now we’re sort of fixated on this. But is there a sense that down the road things are going to happen? Sure,” he explained.

So it seems as if those who are in a rush to see Venom be developed into it’s own solo flick will have to wait. How long is anyone guess right now. The latest movie will  focusing on Electro with some Rhino thrown in there, so there is a small possibility we might see the symbiote in part three, but I wouldn’t hold my breath.
