Sony Hires Some Familiar Faces To Pen The Amazing Spider-Man 3
Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, and Jeff Pinkner have been hired by Sony to pen the screenplay for The Amazing Spider-Man 3. The trio shared screenwriting credit for the upcoming sequel and apparently the studio liked it so much they want more. The Hollywood Reporter revealed the news that the group would be getting to work on the third film set for a June 10, 2016 release.
The writers are set and Andrew Garfield is expected to reprise his role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man. Marc Webb directed the first film and the upcoming sequel, but his return for the third film is not assured though it’s hoped he will come back. With Rhino, Electro, Harry and Norman Osborn having substantial roles in the third film, it’s safe to say big things are in store for the third. It’s been heavily hinted that the Sinister Six will be trying to take down Spidey in either the third or the fourth film. Kurtzman and Orci add Spider-Man 3 to an already full plate. The duo signed on to work on Star Trek 3 and are working to reboot the Mummy franchise at Universal. They’re also batting around ideas for an adaptation of Joe Hills Locke & Key. While we wait to see whether or not the writing trio did a good job with 2, what do you think about them getting the gig to write the third installment of Spider-Man‘s adventures?
