Someone Breaks Protocol And Posts Their FLASH Audition Tape For Iris West

by

iris westAn audition tape for the upcoming Flash TV show has recently hit YouTube. Actress Abigail Wake posted the tape of her trying out for the part of Barry Allen’s (Grant Gustin) gal pal and future wife. Since the casting sheets for the series clearly stated “DO NOT discuss on the internet,” Wake has undoubtedly destroyed any chances she may have had for landing the role. Don’t get too attached to her if you like what you see is what we’re getting at here. What she does offer up is possible dialogue for the pilot episode. It’s not out of the usual for complete scenes written just for the audition process, this at least gives us a hint at the relationship between Iris and Barry.

With rumors that Ernie Hudson is nearing a deal to play Iris’ father, Detective West, the casting process seems to be moving along as we start the new year. The West‘s are being raced swap, though there’s no word on what that could possibly means for the red head speedster from the West family, Wally. The decision to swap races has been a much discussed aspect of the show, though fans seem to be pretty accepting on the whole. Since Wake is out but gives us hints at what to expect from Iris, who do you think could fill the role?

IRIS – 22-28 – African-American – As smart as she is beautiful, Iris is in grad school studying psychology. She’s also Barry’s mile a minute, fast-talking, quick-witted best friend. Her father, Detective West, took in Barry when his mother was murdered, and his father was wrongly accused and imprisoned for her murder. In a tough childhood for Barry, she was the one “not tough” thing. She’s unaware of Barry’s strong feelings for her.
