Sir Ben Kingsley Officially On Board For Iron Man 3: Briefly Talks Character

We heard earlier that Sir Ben Kingsley was in “final negotiations” for Iron Man 3 written and directed by Shane Black and starring Robert Downey Jr., and we’ve also heard about some of the other rumored casting such as Guy Pearce, but those still aren’t official. But now Kingsley himself has said that he is indeed going to be in Iron Man 3. Super Hero Hype got a chance to ask Kingsley about what type of villain he’d be playing while he was doing a junket for The Dictator. Kingsley isn’t allowed to say much, but he did offer these few words:
I’m filming Ender’s Game in New Orleans right now and then I go onto a film called The Physician, which is a beautiful film about a physician and then I go into Iron Man. Quite soon I’ll be with everybody and we’ll be discussing the look and the feel and the direction of the character. It’s very early days yet, but I’m so thrilled to be on board.
Production has started in Wilmington, North Carolina with RDJ in town as we have previously reported. Kingsley will be working on the two films he mentioned, then meeting up with the cast and crew to fully flesh out his role. We’re still being told that he is not the Mandarin, but it that is true remains to be seen.
