Seems STAR WARS VII Is Set For Summer 2015: Plus DARTH VADER TV Specials On The Way
All of the Star Wars Episode VII news has been rumor and speculation for the most part, but it seems something solid has finally hit. The folks at Jedi News have gotten their hands on a brochure from the European Brand Licensing Show that reveals a few interesting pieces of information regarding Disney‘s plans with Star Wars.
The Star Wars related page of the brochure was sent in to them, as you can see below. They’ve highlighted the interesting tidbits. First off the Star Wars LEGO games are going to be coming to mobile devices. The bigger items are the announcement of “Darth Vader themed TV specials” and confirmation that Episode VII will be released in the spring/summer of 2015.
The Darth Vader specials, plural, will probably be part of Disney‘s larger push to get the original trilogy back into the spotlight and help get people into the right mindset for J.J. Abrams‘ big film. It will be interesting to see whether these are documentaries, cartoons, or some live-action special featuring the Sith. That they announced a summer release, instead of the previously rumored winter debut, for Star Wars VII is just as interesting. The summer of 2015 will already be crowded with the likes of Batman vs. Superman and Avengers: Age of Ultron, so Disney will have to pick a date soon if they hope to get the most bang for their summer Star Wars buck. Everything else on the brochure has already been confirmed, so hopefully we hear more about this spring/summer release soon. What do you think?
