See The Opening Salvo Of The Trinity War In Justice League #22 Preview
We’ve seen some teasers and heard a lot about what will happen when the three Justice League teams come to blows, but now we get our first lettered preview of Justice League #22. The Trinity War kicks off this Wednesday, and ahead of the issue’s release USA Today spoke with Geoff Johns about the war’s opening round.
Johns says that Trinity War will wrap up “every single thread” left dangling since he and Jim Lee relaunched Justice League in late 2011. The writer also stated that we would get all the answers regarding the Secret Society of Super-Villains and who is behind it all. While we’ll find out about the mysterious figure, the main tension of the story is how the the heroes find themselves at odds with one another. We know part of the reason tensions boil over is that the JLA has been plotting against the real Justice League, and The Atom has infiltrated the League at the behest of Amanda Waller. Johns says the Trinity war isn’t the kind of story where the heroes win the day:
This is not as clear cut as every other Justice League story. Because they’re so fractured on every level – both within the teams themselves and among the teams — they’re just not in a place right now to be their strongest. This has all been planned and manipulated and set into motion by a force that will be revealed within the story.

It’s chocked full of foreboding, but seeing Wonder Woman explain why she doesn’t have a big rogues gallery is the previews biggest punch. What do you think? Will you be picking this up Wednesday?
TRINITY WAR, the action-mystery event of the summer, begins with a full-length epic adventure! The death of a hero ignites a violent war among the Justice Leagues!
