SDCC ’13: No Justice League Or Flash, But Batman/Superman Confirmed: Official Logo Revealed
UPDATE: The full press release is under the logo pictures. It also confirms (if there was still any doubt) that the NEW Batman has not been cast yet. An Instagram video of the logo’s unveiling has also appeared. Thanks to @PenToReality for the heads up.
The Warner Bros. panel has just wrapped, and we have some big updates on what went down. You’ve probably seen the stories about a Superman/Batman team-up followed by a Flash movie and then the Justice League from earlier today, but it turns out all of that wasn’t entirely true.
The Flash and Justice League film, originally reported for 2016 and 2017 releases, were not announced, hinted at, or even joked about in the panel. That report looks to be completely false. The news about a Superman/Batman movie is 100% true though. Zack Snyder took the stage just as fans thought the panel was over. He told them that “Shit is about to happen here.” And it did. After teasing and stalling for several minutes, he finally announced a Man of Steel sequel that also happens to include Batman. The official logo was shown on all of the screens in Hall H. Of course a few Twitter users (@EricVespe from AICN, @Ethan_Anderson from FirstShowing, and @spellingwtich) snapped the logo as it flashed across the screen. So there you have it. The only DC movie in the works as of now is the Superman/Batman flick. It’s being reported that Snyder and Goyer are back and production will begin in 2014 with a scheduled release sometime in 2015. What do you think about DC‘s movie announcement? Shocked, surprised, think it’s a little lackluster?
