With the inaugural Salt Lake Comic Con being such a massive success- the largest first-time comic con in North American history- the creators and event coordinators are striking while the iron is hot by bringing yet another event to the Salt Lake area with Salt Lake Comic Con FanX, an event that is based more on creating a better and more interactive experience for its attendees. As they did with the con last August, they have secured many amazing guests and panelists for fans to meet and interact with, and more exciting announcements on the way.

1460148_244884729007570_944369293_nSo what can we expect for FanX? Headlining the event will be the star of AMC’s hit series The Walking DeadNorman Reedus. Joining him are current and past co-stars Laurie Holden, who played Andrea on the series, Chandler Riggs, who fills the controversial role of CarlJon Berthal, co-star of the acclaimed Wolf of Wall Street and portrayer of Shane on The Walking Dead. For fans of Reedus’s  other iconic role, Sean Patrick Flannery and David Della Rocco will be in attendance for a Boondock Saints reunions.

For fans of the numerous Joss Whedon television series, Adam Baldwin, who filled the role of fan-favorite Jayne Cobb in the hit series Firefly and its the connected film Serenity, will be making an appearance. Baldwin also had parts in X-Files, Angel and Chuck. Also from the Whedon-verse is James Martsers, who starred in Buffy The Vampire Slayer and its spin-off series Angel, He also made appearances on SmallvilleTorchwood and numerous othe sc-fi series. Julie Benz, who played Darla on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Rita on Dexter was also recently announced.

One of the biggest attractions comes in the form of a massive gathering of actors from the hit series Star Trek: The Next Generation. Last summer, Jonathan Frakes was slated to appear, but because he attended the wedding of his friend and co-star Patrick Stewart, he was forced to cancelLuckily, Frakes rescheduled and he’ll be headlining the event and is bringing some very familiar friends with him, including Brent Spiner, Michael Dorn, Gates McFadden, LeVar Burton, Denise Crosby and Marina Sirtis. If I were a betting man, and I am, I’d wager that the likes of Wil Wheaton and hopefully Patrick Stewart are in the works. Maybe? Hopefully? With John de Lancie making an appearance last summer, it’d be great to see him join in the fun as well.

1457614_245247615637948_1703165929_nWho else is listed? How about Boba Fett himself? Daniel Logan, who played the role of Boba in Attack of the Clones and the hit animated series The Clone Wars, along with Jeremy Bulloch, who portrayed the popular bounty hunter in the original Star Wars films. Drea de Matteo, star of such hit series like Sons of Anarchy and The SopranosJason David Frank, most known for his role as The Green Ranger, Ioan Gruffudd, portrayer of Reed Richards in two Fantastic Four films and star of King Arthur, Kelly Hu from X2: X-Men United and Arrow will all be making an appearance. Not forgetting fans of the wrestling world, Barbie Blank, formally known as Kelly Kelly and Maryse Ouellet will both be attending.

In regards to comic artists, the con have already landed a great group with more to come. They include Neal Adams, Ryan Ottley, Terry Huddleston, Jordan Gunderson and Jamie Tyndall. More guests from the comic book and graphic novel world will be announced in coming days and weeks.

To take advantage of the whole “Xperience” aspect off the con, a recreation of the USS Enterprise-D bridge will be created and available for photo-ops as well as interactions with the cast of The Next Generation. Also available for photo-ops will be the DeLorean Time Machine featured in the hit films Back to the Future, where all proceeds will go to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. All for the good of the cause, right?

As you can see, they’ve already got an impressive list of panelists, guests and opportunities. However, there are still over 100 guests that still need to be announced, so I guarantee the best is yet to come. Tickets are on sale now in a variety of options each offering something different. Tickets will go fast, so get yours now. For all the latest information and guest announcements for Fan Xperience, as well as the 2nd annual Salt Lake Comic Con later this summer, be sure to follow them on Facebook and Twitter. I look forward to seeing you all there!
