Ryan Reynolds May Be Down For An X-Force Movie…Once He Learns What It Is
While we were on our little hiatus preparing to bring you the best coverage possible for Comic Con, news dropped that Fox is looking to do an X-Force movie complete with not only Cable, but Deadpool as well. While a lot of people have been tossing casting suggestions around for Cable it seems like people are just assuming that Ryan Reynolds will be returning as Deadpool, a character he brought to life in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Reynolds has long been attached to a solo Deadpool movie. That particular project has had trouble getting legs at Fox because of the need for an R rating. There has been progress on the film, but not enough to suggest the movie will be coming anytime soon.
While promoting R.I.P.D., Reynolds was talking with MTV where he was asked if he thought doing X-Force was finally going to be the way he is able to bring Deadpool back to the big screen. “If I knew what X-Force was I would. It sounds a little bit like a 1985 Chuck Norris vehicle. Delta Force! That is Delta Force. I don’t know what X-Force is, but it sounds great,” he quipped.
Maybe once Fox gets Reynolds some reading material for X-Force his enthusiasm will jump. The studio has hired Jeff Wadlow to write the script and possibly direct the movie. With San Diego Comic Con going on this week, we may get a few more details. But we will just have to wait and see.
