Rumor About MS. MARVEL Joining AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON Resurfaces
Hot off the heels of the news that Paul Bettany will be taking on the role of the Vision in Avengers: Age of Ultron, a rumor about Carol Danvers aka Ms. Marvel aka Captain Marvel‘s inclusion in the Joss Whedon directed sequel has resurfaced. The Vision news has been confirmed by both The Hollywood Reporter and Variety since it hit a few hours ago, so now it seems it’s time to start figuring out who may be assembling with Earth’s Mightiest Heroes next.
Latino-Review added a bit of news to their report about Bettany‘s new role by saying that Ms. Marvel would be a part of the team as well. They claim to know details about how she will be worked into the story, but for the first time ever they’ve decide they’ll hold onto a secret. The only thing the site was willing to put out there is the following:
Oh yeah, Miss Marvel is the last piece of major casting left in the movie. Yeah, Miss Marvel. Now, I’m not going to spoil HOW she is in it, but she is in there kids. The question now is who is going to play her? Katee Sackhoff was originally rumored so it will be interesting to see who Marvel gets for that part.
The rumor about Ms. Marvel first popped up back in 2012 if I recall correctly. The Daily Mail, who broke the Vision news tonight, claimed Marvel had two actresses in mind but those choices were eventually shot down. Since then Katee Sackhoff has said she would absolutely love to play Carol Danvers and she may or may not have had some discussions with Marvel about something. Sackhoff was the last name attached to any Ms. Marvel rumors, but since that week and a half last year when everyone went crazy about her quotes there hasn’t been any movement on that front.
If Ms. Marvel is indeed in the film, and I imagine we’ll get a namedrop or cameo, then maybe we’ll hear something official soon. Don Cheadle will have a role as Rhodey/War Machine in Age of Ultron, so there’s one easy way to introduce the Air Force intelligence agent that eventually becomes Ms. and then Captain Marvel. Take a little salt with this one and we’ll see how things unfold. What do you think about Age of Ultron adding in Carol in some form or capacity? Would you rather see a cameo leading to a solo movie or do you want her fighting alongside the team in the final battle with Ultron?
